• About T.K. Murthy: At 103, he is among India’s senior-most performing artistes and an eminent mridangam player and guru.

How Does Pioxaniliprole Work?

• Pioxaniliprole belongs to the anthranilic diamide class of insecticides. It targets ryanodine receptors (calcium-release channels) in insect muscles.

• By activating these receptors, it causes an uncontrolled release of calcium, leading to feeding cessation, muscle paralysis, and eventually the death of the target insect pests.

• केरल के कासरगोड जिले की आठ ग्राम पंचायतें पारंपरिक जल-संरक्षण प्रणाली ‘सुरंगम’ (Surangam) को पुनर्जीवित करने की योजना बना रही हैं।

• इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य भूजल का पुनर्भरण करना(restoration), वर्षा जल का संरक्षण करना और सूखे के समय पानी की उपलब्धता बनाए रखना है।

Indian Captain Smit Machchhar and fellow flydubai crew members were honoured by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their courage in protecting passengers during an attempted mid-air cockpit attack on 30 September 2026.
